Persistent Tooltips

What Are Persistent Tooltips?

Persistent tooltips are always-visible annotations that exist alongside the guided hotspot sequence. They're useful for labeling UI elements that learners might want to reference at any time, without being part of the step-by-step flow.

How They Work

  • The persistent hotspot highlight and badge are always visible on screen
  • Clicking the persistent hotspot opens its tooltip
  • Dismissing the tooltip does not advance the guided sequence
  • Persistent hotspots are completely independent of the guided flow

Creating a Persistent Tooltip

1.Add a hotspot to your screen
2.In the properties panel, check Always visible (persistent annotation)
3.Configure the label, description, color, and animation as usual

Visual Indicators

In the editor, persistent hotspots are shown with:

  • A dashed border (instead of solid)
  • A cyan thumbtack icon in the Hotspots panel

Tips

  • Use persistent tooltips for navigation labels, section headers, or reference information
  • Keep persistent tooltip text short — they're for quick reference, not detailed explanations
  • Persistent hotspots still animate, so they draw attention without blocking the guided flow
